Everyone praises The Wire for season 4 but season 2 is the real peak
I keep seeing people rank The Wire seasons and they always put season 2 near the bottom. That dock storyline with Sobotka and the Greeks is way more interesting than people give it credit for. The whole thing about working class jobs disappearing and people being forced into crime hits harder now in 2024 than when it aired in 2003. Season 4 is great with the school kids, sure, but it feels smaller. Season 2 ties the port, politics, and the drug trade together in a way the other seasons never manage. Am I the only one who thinks the show actually peaked with Frank Sobotka's arc, or is that just me?
