Unpopular opinion: that candle brand's viral moment was NOT a happy accident, the 3 day gap between clips gave it away
Everyone in my group chat keeps calling it lightning in a bottle, but I pulled up the dates and I don't buy it. A small candle shop in Boise posted a 9 second clip of a wick drowning on a Tuesday, got maybe 400 views, then posted a follow up on Friday showing the fix, and that one hit 2.1 million by Sunday. That 3 day gap is the tell for me. They let the comments fill up with people asking why it happened, so the fix clip had a crowd waiting for it. I've watched a dozen brands try the same thing and flop, and the ones that hit always hold back the payoff just long enough. My guess is they had both clips in the can on day one and just timed the drop. People want to call it real and raw, but real and raw doesn't usually land on a schedule like that. Am I reading too much into the gap, or does timing like that feel planned to you too?
