TIL my friend's 'spontaneous' beach video was a 3-hour shoot with a rented drone.
He posted it last month and it got 2 million views. The whole story was about a 'found' seashell, but he bought it from a craft store. Makes you wonder what else we're not seeing... anyone else have a friend who faked a viral moment?

A 3-hour shoot for a "spontaneous" video is wild lol. The fake seashell really tops it off.

Totally get what you mean about the fake seashell, masonm70. I used to roll my eyes at stuff like that too. But I watched a video where someone broke down how much work goes into making a 30-second clip look that effortless. The lighting, the sound, getting the right take. It made me see it differently. Now I figure if they want to spend three hours to make something feel real for a minute, that's their choice. It's more about the final vibe than being actually spontaneous.

Agree with both of you. Piper's right about the work, but Mason's point is what gets me. That fake shell is a choice. They could have used a real one or just skipped it, but they added a prop to sell the "beach day" lie. Makes you wonder what else in the video is just for show.
