That viral productivity hack about time blocking? Ruined my week.
Everyone keeps posting about time blocking apps like they're a miracle. My friend Dana pushed me to try it for 7 days straight. I blocked out 3 hour chunks for design work and 30 minutes for emails on my calendar. By Tuesday I had 4 meetings shoved into my creative block and missed 2 client deadlines. The schedule looked great on paper but real life just doesn't bend that way. Has anyone else had this backfire on them?

Honestly, ditching the strict blocks for rough morning/afternoon splits saved me.

Totally get what you mean. For me, swapping out the strict hour-by-hour blocks for just "morning = deep work, afternoon = emails and meetings" was a game changer. The rigid time blocks stressed me out more than they helped, because a single interruption would ruin the whole schedule. Now I just say "by noon I need to be done with that big report" and leave it at that. Way more realistic when life gets messy.

Strict blocks" are the only way I don't end up wasting half the morning lol. If I just go with a rough split I'll push everything to the afternoon and then nothing gets done.
