Swapped posting at peak times for posting when my niche actually scrolls

I used to schedule my art posts for 6 PM like everyone says, but I checked my analytics and found 75% of my engagement came between 10 PM and midnight. Changed my schedule last month and my last reel hit double the usual views before morning. Has anyone else found their audience ignores the so-called best times?

The algorithm rewarding off-hours posting actually makes sense if you think about how feeds are sorted. Most creators pile on at 6 PM creating a massive competition wall, while your late night scroll crew gets served way less stuff to compete with. I noticed this with my retro gaming clips - posting at 3 AM on a Saturday gets me 4x the comments because I'm basically the only fresh content those insomniac collectors see. Time zones might be part of it too, maybe your overseas fans are hitting that late window.
