I was killing time in a hotel lobby in Boise before a job and watched some guy try to film a "funny" reaction to his friend's prank. It totally flopped, like crickets, but he kept reshooting it for 20 minutes trying to force the moment. That got me thinking about my own posts, I used to chase that same spark of fake spontaneity. So I deleted three drafts that felt too staged and put up a raw clip of my fence line wobbling in the wind instead. That one hit 40k views in two days, way more than anything I planned out. The lesson for me was that viewers can smell the setup from a mile away. Anyone else ditched their usual formula after watching someone else crash and burn in public?
