Question about the 'Dolly Parton' TikTok trend at my local diner

I was at the Blue Plate Diner in Madison last weekend and saw a group of teens filming themselves doing that '9 to 5' dance challenge. The manager told me they'd been coming in for a month, always ordering the same milkshakes. It made me think about how a place can become a set for a trend without even trying. Has anyone else seen a spot in their town get picked for a viral bit?

Is it weird that this makes me feel kind of sad for the diner? Like, it's their normal place of work, but now it's just a background for these kids. I saw something similar happen at the old mini golf place by the river. A couple made it their whole wedding video spot for a week and then never came back. It just feels like the real meaning of the place gets lost.

@henderson.vera It's just a diner, not a museum. Places get used for stuff all the time, that's what they're there for.

Yeah, that's just how places work now, @henderson.vera.
