Question about that one viral TikTok dance and how it blew up overnight

I used to roll my eyes at those viral dance trends. Thought it was just lucky timing or random luck. Then last Tuesday I actually tracked one from start to finish. A creator named Maya posted a 15 second clip at 9pm, and by 9am the next day it had 2 million views because three big accounts dueted it in sequence. What made me change my mind was seeing the actual strategy. She had commented on each of those accounts videos for months before, building real connections. Has anyone else looked under the hood of a viral moment and found it was actually planned out?

Watched my niece do the same thing with a recipe video. Spent three months commenting on foodie pages before one of them reposted her stuff... ended up getting a cookbook deal out of it.

My cousin tried something similar but with dog grooming videos. She kept tagging this big pet brand in comments every day for weeks just showing off her poodle's haircuts. One day they actually reached out and now she does grooming demonstrations at their events. The funny thing is she never even wanted to be a groomer, she just thought her dog looked cute. Now she's got a whole side hustle traveling to pet expos on the weekends.

You know what's wild, my sister did almost the exact same thing but with those satisfying soap cutting videos. She'd spend hours finding the perfect bars and filming the cuts in her kitchen with decent lighting. She'd tag @emery_lopez's dog grooming accounts favorite pet brand too, I think she got confused with the tagging system. But she'd comment on every big soap cutter's video for like six months straight, just saying what she liked about their technique. One of them finally noticed her and now she's got a little side business selling custom soap blocks to people who want that perfect cutting experience. It really does seem like this invisible groundwork is the actual secret, not the 15 seconds of fame itself.
