Just realized that viral 'I quit my job' TikTok was actually staged by a marketing agency

Last week I found out that emotional video of a guy crying at his desk in Austin was a paid ad for a career coaching app, and now I feel dumb for sharing it to my story, has anyone else been burned by these fake viral stories?

Used to roll my eyes at people who said everything online was fake marketing. But that Austin crying guy got me too. Shared it to a group chat and everything. The acting was too good. Makes you wonder how many other "real" moments are just ad scripts now. Definitely changed how I look at viral videos these days.

Honestly, that's hilarious. So we're out here paying people to cry for clout now?
