Drove 3 hours to see a viral waterfall video location, found a clogged drain instead

Last month I saw this insane clip of a waterfall in the Smoky Mountains that had like 2 million views. The comments were all saying it was some hidden gem near Gatlinburg. So my buddy and I drove 3 hours on a Saturday, hiked 40 minutes through mud, and when we got to the spot, it was a tiny creek with a rusted pipe that was half plugged with leaves. The viral video was filmed during a flash flood, and some guy in the comments later admitted he edited the saturation to make it look turquoise. The funny part is there were 12 other people there who had the same idea, all just staring at this sad trickle. We ate our sandwiches and walked back. Has anyone else gone to a viral location and found the reality way less impressive? What's the closest you've gotten to a total letdown?
