That moment I realized everyone is using hashtags WRONG on Instagram
I was scrolling through my analytics last week and noticed something crazy. My posts with 5 hashtags were getting WAY more reach than my posts with 30 hashtags. I thought you were supposed to spam every possible tag, you know? But I tested it for 10 days straight. I posted one photo with a bunch of generic hashtags like #love and #instagood and it got like 80 likes. Then I posted a photo of my desk setup with only 5 specific hashtags like #deskgoals and #wfhsetup and it got over 400 likes. The algorithm seems to HATE when you use too many broad hashtags because it thinks you're just gaming the system. Has anyone else noticed their reach drop when they use more than like 8 hashtags?

Oh man, you know what this reminds me of? That time my cousin insisted the creek behind his house was only knee deep and then he jumped in and it was up to his neck. Water is sneaky like that. @fox.derek probably knows exactly what I'm talking about with those lake measurements he threw out. It's funny how we always assume things are one way until someone actually measures them or you end up soaked. Anyway, I guess whether it's "that deep" depends on if you're talking about the water or the conversation itself.

Actually there are 42 feet of water in that section of the lake near the dam. I looked it up after the last time someone said it was shallow. So yeah, it's pretty deep lol.
