That "no hashtags at all" part is wild. I used to stuff every post with them, thinking it was required. Seeing a video blow up without any makes me question what else we're just doing because everyone says to.

Right, the part about questioning what else we're just doing because everyone says to is so true. It feels like half of social media advice is just made up rules that someone repeated enough times. We end up doing things like posting at "perfect times" or using certain buzzwords without ever checking if it actually works. It makes you want to just ignore all the tips and post what feels right.

A blog post I read said algorithms now watch the actual video content to figure out who might like it. They don't just rely on tags anymore. It makes sense because a good video can get shared without any help from hashtags. All those extra steps we add might not matter as much as we're told. Maybe the best tip is to just make stuff people want to watch.
