Question about throwing money at sponsored posts after a $350 loss
I sank $350 into boosting a single Facebook post last month after a marketing friend swore it was the only way to grow. Turns out the boosted post got tons of views but zero actual engagement, and my organic reach actually dropped after. Has anyone else burned cash on paid reach only to see your regular posts tank even more?

I used to think paid reach was just part of the game. My buddy swore by boosted posts too. But after dumping $350 into a single post and seeing my organic reach drop like a rock, I had to face facts. It felt like the algorithm punished me for buying attention. Now I focus on making better content for free instead of throwing cash at the problem.

Yeah @blake691, that $350 hit is a rough way to learn it. I stopped boosting posts too and just focus on videos that actually show something useful, the free reach came back after a few weeks.

Actually the algorithm didn't punish you for boosting posts, it's more that paid posts and organic posts run in separate channels. When your boosted post gets views but no engagement, Facebook just sees that as low quality content and deprioritizes everything from your page. Same result, just different reason for why it happens.
