I thought posting at 'peak times' was a total waste of effort

For a year, I ignored all the advice about scheduling posts for when my audience was online. I figured the algorithm would just show my stuff to people anyway. Then last month, I tested it on my small art account. I posted one piece at 3 PM on a Tuesday, my usual random time. The next day, I posted a similar piece at 8 PM on a Thursday, which my analytics said was busy. The second post got over 300% more likes and 12 new followers in 24 hours. The data was too clear to ignore. Now I use a simple free scheduler. Has anyone else been surprised by how much timing actually matters?

But what if your content just wasn't as good the first time? I've posted at different times with similar stuff and the results were always random.

Honestly just posting more often helped me see what actually stuck.

Yeah the "results were always random" thing hits home. I used to think timing was everything until I tested the same post three days in a row. The one that blew up was the middle one, and it was literally the same picture of my dog. The internet's just weird like that. Sometimes it feels less about the clock and more about who's scrolling at that exact second.
