I finally figured out why my Instagram reels were getting zero views

For three whole days I was posting at what I thought was the perfect time, 7 PM, but my views were stuck under 100. I watched a video from a creator named Jamie who said the algorithm now favors videos that get saved and shared, not just liked. So I started adding a clear call to action asking people to save the video if they found it helpful, and my next reel got over 2,000 views. Has anyone else tried focusing on the save button instead of likes?

Yeah, that save button thing is real. I saw a dip in my views last month and started literally telling people to bookmark my tutorial reels for later. My engagement didn't just go up, the videos kept getting new views for days after I posted. It's like the algorithm sees a save and thinks the content has more long term value than a simple double tap.

Telling people to bookmark is smart. I tried that once and my most saved reel is just me looking for my keys for 45 seconds. The algorithm must think I'm teaching a master class in being lost.

So the algorithm thinks a video of someone losing their keys for 45 seconds has long term value? That's perfect. @caleb_ross12 is onto something. My most saved reel is probably me trying to open a jar of pickles. The app must think it's a timeless life skill. Next I'll film myself watching paint dry and beg people to bookmark it for later. I guess we're all just making digital reference libraries for the weirdest stuff now.
