I Almost Slashed My Posting Schedule To Beat The Algorithm And It Backfired For 3 Weeks
I run a page about DIY concrete projects and for 8 months I posted twice a day on Instagram, once at 7:15am and once at 6:30pm. Around the middle of March, a couple of bigger accounts told me the algorithm was punishing frequent posters, so I cut down to 3 posts a week. My reach dropped hard. I went from averaging 4,200 views per post to about 900, and my saves fell off a cliff. I stuck with it for 3 weeks thinking the app just needed time to adjust, but my follower count started going backward for the first time since I started the page. I switched back to twice a day on April 8th and within 4 days my numbers were right back where they were. So now I want to know, did cutting back actually work for anybody here, or did you get burned like I did?
