Hot take: Posting at 6pm every day is actually hurting your reach

Everyone in this group keeps saying to post at the same time daily, but I tested that for 3 months with my home repair tips page and saw steady drops. When I switched to posting right after major storms or utility outages, my engagement jumped by 40% because people were already searching for answers. Has anyone else noticed that sticking to a rigid schedule kills your natural connection with what's actually happening?

...and your audience stops paying attention because they know what's coming. I've seen the same thing in my own woodworking group - posting when people are actually fixing things after a storm gets way more traction than my Tuesday afternoon slot ever did. Timing matters less than real world relevance.

Caught myself falling into that trap a few years back. Had this whole schedule for posting repair videos on Saturdays and wondered why nobody cared. Then my neighbor's furnace went out in January and I filmed the whole thing, just for kicks. That video got more views in a day than all my scheduled stuff combined.
