Can we talk about how I used to post everything at 9 AM?
For like two years, I scheduled all my posts for 9 AM sharp because I read it was the 'best time'. My engagement was just okay. Last month, I checked my Instagram insights and saw my followers were most active at 7 PM on weeknights. I switched my schedule to post then, and my last three posts got double the likes. Has anyone else found their 'best time' is totally different from the general advice?

That "best time" advice is a perfect example of how general rules often miss the mark. I see it everywhere, from diet plans to productivity tips. What works for the crowd usually needs a personal tweak to actually work for you.

Totally agree with you @jessicajackson, it's like they forget we're all wired differently. I tried following that whole morning workout hype and just ended up tired and grumpy all day. My energy peaks way later, so I had to flip the script to make it stick. Those blanket rules can make you feel like you're failing when you just need a different schedule.

General advice exists for a reason, it's a solid starting point based on broad data. @jessicajackson calls it a miss, but maybe people just apply it wrong without giving it a real chance. Your own schedule might change again next month, chasing spikes can be a short term fix. Those standard time slots became standard because they work for a huge amount of people. Sticking with a proven time builds a reliable habit for your audience too.
