A new rug in my entryway finally got the attention it deserved online
I picked up a bright patterned rug for my front door area last week. After setting it down, I snapped a quick picture to show the change. Normally my home pics get lost in the feed. This time, I tried something different by adding a poll in my story asking which color people liked best. I also shared it in a local home group early in the morning. The engagement shot up with over fifty votes and lots of friendly chats. It was just a small shift in how I shared, but it made all the difference. Seeing that response has me eager to tweak my approach for my next organizing project.

Man, that is so smart about sharing it early in the local group. I read something a while back about how posting at the start of the day, like when people are having coffee, can really catch their eye before the feed gets too busy. It makes total sense that more folks would see it and jump in. Your story poll was a great move too, it gives people a simple way to join in without having to think of a full comment. It is crazy how just those two small changes flipped the script. I am totally going to try that timing trick next time I post a picture of my own place.

Noticed the exact same thing with my neighborhood page... posting around 7 am gets way more eyes. It's like Facebook's algorithm gives it a push before everyone's feed gets flooded. Totally works, @paul_thomas. That poll trick you mentioned is key too... people just love tapping a button instead of typing. Makes the whole thing feel less like work for them.
