My stick burner from 2008 finally gave up last weekend
I bought this old Oklahoma Joe offset back when they were still made in Oklahoma. Cooked on it nearly every weekend for 16 years, through rain and snow. The firebox finally rusted through on Saturday during a brisket cook. Managed to finish the cook with some tin foil and prayers, but I think it's time to retire it. Anyone else have a rig they just can't let go of?

Man, "tin foil and prayers" is exactly how I kept my old Char-Griller going for way too long. Had that thing for like 12 years, rusted out around the ash cleanout door. I finally gave up after a pork butt cook where I had to wrap half the firebox in a trash bag just to keep the smoke inside. It's tough letting go of something that's been through that many cooks with you. What are you thinking about replacing it with?

Haha the trash bag move is legendary, I've totally been there with my old rusty offset
