That Saturday when my clippers died mid-fade

I was 3 minutes into a skin fade on a regular at my chair in Brooklyn and the cord just gave out. Had to finish the whole thing with my backup trimmers and a straight razor, took twice as long. Anyone else ever have a tool fail at the worst possible moment?

Man, I feel that pain right in my gut. Had my foils crapper out on me during a global bleach retouch on a Saturday rush, left me with a half-done head and a panicked look on my face. Backup gear is a must now, but there's still that split second of dread when you know you're going to have to explain the delay.

Nicked myself with the straight razor trying to rush and had to explain the tiny blood spot to my client like it was a lucky scar. Your mileage may vary but my backup gear now lives in a drawer I can grab blindfolded.
