Switched from flat top combs to a rake comb for clipper work, huge difference
I always used a standard flat top comb for fading, but last month I grabbed a rake comb on a whim. The teeth are spaced wider so it lifts the hair better without snagging. My blend lines came out way cleaner on the first pass, especially around the crown. Has anyone else made that swap and stuck with it?

Hell no, I couldn't disagree more. I tried a rake comb for a couple weeks and went straight back to my flat top. The wider teeth let too much hair fall down while I'm working, so I kept missing spots and had to double back constantly. Flat top gives me way more control over the hair when I'm doing tight fades, especially blending those short to medium lengths.

Actually, flat tops and rake combs aren't really interchangeable - a rake is more for detangling long or curly hair, not for cutting tight fades. You're right that the flat top is way better for that kind of control.
