Showerthought: A styling product today had me thinking of lunch
I was mid-fade when a strong, familiar aroma hit me from the client's hair. His new pomade had a scent that was dead on for garlic bread, and my stomach started growling. What's the oddest smell you've come across in the shop that tied back to eating?

Oh man, that happens all the time now... So many things smell like food by accident, not on purpose. My hand soap smells exactly like fake bananas from Laffy Taffy.

I had a body wash that smelled exactly like buttered popcorn for no clear reason. Reading @campbell.terry's take on key lime pie lotion made me realize how common this is. Switching to unscented products worked for me because it stopped the weird food associations. I mean, who wants to smell like a snack all day? Your Laffy Taffy banana soap sounds like the same kind of lab mistake. Idk why these food scents keep slipping into everyday items.

Wow! I used to be sure that when products smelled like food, it was a choice. Your comment about the hand soap smelling like Laffy Taffy bananas really shifted my view. Now I see it's probably just a mix-up in the scent labs. It's happening all the time, and I can't unsee it. My lotion smells like key lime pie, and it's not even a food brand. This accidental food smell trend is getting out of hand!
