Serious question, was I wrong about clipper oils?
I used to think any old clipper oil was fine. Kept using the cheap stuff from the beauty supply for 5 years. One guy I cut for in Tucson brought in his own bottle of Wahl Premium Oil and let me try it on my clippers after he heard them grinding. Honestly felt a difference in the blades within a few cuts. Has anyone else noticed a real difference between cheap and name brand oils?

Read somewhere the cheap stuff's basically mineral oil with zero additives for high-speed blades.

10,000 hours cutting with cheap oil and I've never had a single blade issue.

Caleb over here saying "10,000 hours cutting with cheap oil" like it's some kind of flex. That's impressive, but I gotta ask @caleb_ross12 - what are you cutting with that stuff, butter and foam board? Because my last batch of cheap oil turned my blade into a little smoky fire hazard after about 20 minutes on some hard maple. Maybe you just got lucky or I got the really bad stuff.
