PSA: The clipper gap difference after 6 months of sharpening

I switched from factory blades to hand-honed ones on my Wahl Magic Clips back in March, and the cut quality on fades changed big time. Now the blend line disappears way cleaner without me having to flick extra on the guards. Any of y'all notice a huge jump after switching to a pro sharpening service?

I actually watched a barber on YouTube break down the difference with a microscope once. Factory blades have these tiny rough edges that grab at hair, but after a good hand hone the edge is way smoother and cuts cleaner. That's probably why your fade lines blend better now, it's not just placebo. I noticed the same thing when I sent my Andis to a sharpener, the guide comb work got noticeably easier too.

Bet you're overthinking it, a fresh blade is a fresh blade.

Bet you're overthinking it, a fresh blade is a fresh blade." So if you had two blades straight out of the factory, you'd bet your money they cut exactly the same every time, even if one was made in a different plant?
