Picked a Wahl Senior over a Magic Clip for my busy shop and kind of wish I'd gone the other way

I was stuck between the Wahl Senior and the Magic Clip for like two weeks before I finally pulled the trigger on the Senior. Been using it for about 3 months now in my shop in Austin and I dunno, it feels a bit heavy for long days. I do 8 to 10 cuts on Saturdays and my wrist gets tired. The blade is nice and sharp but the Magic Clip is lighter and I feel like I'd move faster with it. Has anyone else switched back after going with the Senior?

Did you swap out the factory blade on the Senior? That stock blade is heavy, but popping on a lighter taper blade changes the whole balance of the clipper.

Yeah, that heavier feel is the main reason I don't use my Senior as much on long days. It's kind of like how I can't wear my steel toe boots for a full shift anymore either. I switched to some lighter trail runners and it changed everything for my feet. Same principle applies to clippers I guess, you don't notice the weight until you've been holding it for hours on end.

You're right about that steel toe boot comparison, it really is the same with clippers. That weight adds up in your hands and wrists in a way you don't feel until you've been at it for a few hours. I think that's why I ended up using my lighter clippers way more often for the long stretch days.
