My neighbor keeps asking for free cuts right when I'm about to lock up

He shows up at my shop door just as I'm finishing for the day, expecting a quick haircut on the house. It puts me in a weird spot since I live nearby and don't want to be rude, but it's really starting to eat into my personal time. How do you handle friends or neighbors who expect special treatment without paying?

Oh man, the "right when I'm about to lock up" timing is the worst. We all have that one neighbor who thinks our job is a 24/7 free help desk. I started telling people my clippers are on a timer that shuts off with the lights, which is a joke but also not really. You gotta laugh or you'll go nuts, but maybe also start saying your next appointment is with your couch.
