My mentor in Phoenix told me to never use a 1.5 guard on dry hair, and he was absolutely right.
I tried it once on a client and it left a patchy, uneven line that took me 20 minutes to fix with shears.

Always skip the shortcut, it just makes more work later lol.

My buddy at the shop learned this the hard way last month. He went in with a 1.5 on dry, coarse hair for a quick trim. Ended up creating these weird, choppy steps in the client's graduation. He had to blend it out with a 2 guard open, then closed, and still needed to point cut the whole perimeter. It totally threw off his timing for the next appointment.
