Just realized the difference between a cheap pair of clippers and my Andis Masters
Burned through two budget sets in a year because they'd overheat and pull hair halfway through a fade. The Masters have run cool for three years straight, even on my busiest Saturday. What's the one tool you splurged on that actually paid off?

You really need pro clippers for a home haircut? I used a twenty dollar set from the drugstore for years and it was fine. Just give them a break between passes so they don't get hot. Seems like a lot of money unless you're cutting hair all day.

That's a fair point from lane.cameron about the drugstore clippers working okay. The big difference for me was the power and how clean the cut feels. My old ones would pull and snag sometimes, even when they were cool, and that just doesn't happen with a better motor. It's one of those things where you don't miss it until you try the upgrade, like samjohnson said. Would you ever try a pro model just to see the difference?
