Had a nightmare Tuesday that turned into my best week ever
Last Tuesday I had three no-shows in a row and a guy walked out halfway through because his fade wasn't "exactly even." I was ready to pack it in early. Then an older barber I respect came in and watched me work on a tricky skin fade for like 20 minutes. He just nodded and said "you're rushing the blend, slow down by half" and it clicked. Has anyone else had a bad day flip around from a random piece of advice like that?

Yeah that kind of random wisdom from someone who's been at it is pure gold.

The thing about that advice is he didn't just give you a tip, he gave you permission to slow down. Most of us think speed equals skill when we're still learning. But that pressure to be fast actually kills the quality. Your brain freaks out, you tense up, and you start making tiny mistakes that pile up. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast, that old saying is real. So that one line probably fixed both your technique and your mindset in one shot. Pretty wild how a few words can do that.
