Had a killer Tuesday last week - 14 haircuts in 8 hours

I was booked solid from 9am to 5pm with mostly fades and one kid who would not sit still. Every single cut came out clean, even the squirmy 6-year-old's buzz fade. Anyone else have those days where everything just clicks and you feel like you can't miss?

Does the energy from a day like that carry over into the next shift or just fade away after you clock out?

That energy usually fades by the time you walk out the door. The next day you're starting fresh with a new set of customers and whatever mood you wake up in. Parker's study sounds interesting but muscle memory doesn't guarantee you'll have the same sharp focus when you're tired or distracted.

Man I just read this study about how barbers who hit a flow state actually build muscle memory faster for new techniques. It said the brain kinda locks in the movements when you're on a streak like that. So yeah, I think those clean days do carry over, at least for the first few cuts the next morning.
