Bought a cheap pair of thinning shears for $25 and they fell apart in two weeks

I was trying to save some cash and grabbed these 'professional' shears from a discount beauty supply site. The first few cuts felt okay, but then the tension screw stripped out completely. I tried to fix it, but the metal was so soft the threads just gave up. Ended up having to buy my usual $80 pair anyway, so I basically threw that $25 straight in the trash. What's the worst tool you've wasted money on, and what brand do you trust now?

I get what you mean about throwing money away, but I've actually had good luck with cheaper shears. That tension screw issue is a bummer, but my $30 pair from Sally Beauty has lasted me three years now. I just make sure to oil them and not drop them. Sometimes you just get a bad batch, even with the expensive stuff.

Tighten that screw with a coin, works every time.
