Bought a cheap knockoff trimmer from a flea market and it died after two weeks

I saw a cordless trimmer for $25 at the local flea market last month and thought I found a steal. It worked okay for the first few haircuts, but the battery wouldn't hold a charge after two weeks. Now I'm out that cash and had to rush to buy a proper one for a full-price $120. Has anyone else had a tool fail that fast, and what brand did you switch to?

That's the classic flea market gamble right there.

My $30 off-brand drill from Harbor Freight seized up after maybe ten uses. I learned the hard way that some tools are just worth paying more for upfront. Now I just save up for the known brands.

Honestly that rule applies to almost everything now, cheap stuff just doesn't last like it used to.
