Should you save a ruined cake or just toss it? I froze mine and it actually worked.
I was making a vanilla layer cake for my niece's birthday last month and the first batch came out super dry and cracked. I almost threw it in the trash but then I brushed it with simple syrup and wrapped it tight in plastic. Popped it in the freezer for 24 hours and when I pulled it out and frosted it, nobody could tell. So is it worth trying to salvage a bad bake or should you just start over? Has anyone else had a save work out better than expected?

Yeah syrup is a total game changer for dry cakes. I do it on purpose now, not even just for saves.
