My stand mixer threw a spatula at me and I nearly lost an eye

So I was making a double batch of chocolate chip cookies last Tuesday and had the mixer going on high with the paddle attachment. Ngl, I thought I locked the head down tight but it popped up mid mix and flung a rubber spatula right past my face. It hit the cabinet door behind me with a loud crack. I stood there for a solid minute wondering if I should laugh or cry. Has anyone else had a kitchen tool try to take them out like that?

Are we really calling a rubber spatula a near death experience now? I mean yeah it probably startled you and that cabinet dent sounds annoying, but you said yourself it hit the cabinet behind you not your face. A wooden spoon or a metal whisk would be a different story, but a rubber spatula is basically the least dangerous thing in a kitchen.
