My chocolate chip cookies kept spreading into one giant flat mess until I tried chilling the dough overnight.

I baked a test batch this morning and they came out thick and chewy, just like I wanted. Anyone have other tricks for stopping cookie spread?

Isn't it funny how we get sold this perfect picture of how things should look? Like cookies need to be thick and chewy or they're a fail. But honestly, most of the time the taste is exactly the same, we just get hung up on the look. I see this everywhere, from food to clothes to home decor. We chase the ideal image and miss out on stuff that's actually just fine, maybe even better.

Exactly, @xena1. Flat ones get crisp edges and that's a whole different vibe, still good. We get stuck on the picture perfect version and miss out on other good stuff.
