Can we talk about how everyone keeps opening the oven door to check on cakes? I saw three people do it at a bake sale last weekend and it made me cringe.

Just taped a giant note over the oven window.

Just put a sticky note on the oven that says "NO PEEKING" in big letters. The heat drop can totally wreck a cake's rise.

My mom used to bake a lot and she always said opening the oven is the quickest way to get a sad, flat cake. She'd get mad if anyone even walked heavy near the oven. The science shows that big heat changes mess with the bubbles that make it rise. A sticky note is a good idea, maybe even a timer on the other side of the room.
