Walked into an old bakery in Philly last month and saw they still use a 1950s Hobart mixer that’s never been serviced.
That thing had to be 70 years old but it churned dough like new, and I’m wondering how many of us are keeping old gear running instead of upgrading to the shiny stuff.

My buddy runs a print shop in Brooklyn and still uses a 1970s Heidelberg press that weighs as much as a car. The thing breaks down maybe once a year and he fixes it with zip ties and basic hand tools. Meanwhile his partner bought a brand new digital press that's been in the shop for repairs three times in six months.

Andrew over there with that Heidelberg press, that thing is a beast. But it's actually not from the 70s, Heidelberg started making those in the 60s so his is probably an original from like 1965. @andrew_rodriguez gotta respect anyone who can fix a machine with zip ties though. That Hobart mixer from the 50s is a tank just like those old presses. Bet it still has the original grease inside and everything.
