The new bakery on Maple Street has a display case full of fake bread

I stopped by that new place, The Golden Crust, yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes. Every single loaf and pastry in their front window is clearly a plastic prop, not real baked goods. It's a terrible look for a spot that's supposed to sell fresh bread. Has anyone else seen a bakery do this and still expect customers to trust them?

What kind of bakery uses fake bread in the window? That's just asking for trouble. It makes you wonder what else they're faking if they can't even show the real product. I'd walk right out and go somewhere that actually shows their fresh stuff. How do they expect to build any trust with customers? It just feels lazy and dishonest.

My local hardware store has fake grass samples out front, same idea. You're right, @wright.lisa, it feels like a shortcut that makes you question the whole place.

My old neighborhood bakery did that and lost half its regulars.
