Switching to a dough scraper fixed my sticky sourdough after 6 months of fighting it

I watched that 55% hydration loaf finally release from the bench yesterday and realized my wet hands were the problem all along, has anyone else had a tiny tool change flip their whole routine like that?

Funny enough, I used to think wet hands were the only way to handle sticky dough. Like it was some kind of secret baker trick. Then I got a cheap plastic scraper and suddenly the dough stopped clinging to everything. It felt like I'd been making things harder on purpose for months. Now I keep one next to the bowl and I don't even bother with the water dish.

Bench scraper changed the whole game for me too, @blairtaylor. I still keep a little bowl of water nearby for when things get real bad, but that scraper does 90% of the work now.
