Spent $80 on a fancy digital scale for bread baking that has a stupid auto-off feature that kills me every time
You guys ever have one of those kitchen scales that shuts off mid-measure when you're adding flour because it thinks you're done, totally threw off my hydration ratio on a batch of sourdough and ruined the whole thing, anyone found a scale that just stays on?

That auto-off feature is the absolute worst I swear these companies never actually use their own products in a real kitchen.

You're spot on about them not using their stuff in real conditions. I had a toaster oven that would shut off after 20 minutes no matter what. Made it totally useless for roasting anything. My fix was to just wedge a toothpick in the door latch to trick the sensor. It's janky but it works. Just be careful not to leave it unattended if you do that. These engineers think everyone cooks perfect little 10 minute meals or something.

Man, that toothpick trick is genius but also terrifying haha. @lucashart, did you ever try contacting the company to see if there was a way to just disable that 20 minute timer in the settings or something?
