Just visited that new bakery on 5th Street and their croissants are a crime
I got one yesterday and the layers were totally wrong, it was dense and greasy like a biscuit. The owner said they 'save time' by not doing a proper double fold. Who thinks they can skip the basics and still call it a real croissant? What's the worst shortcut you've seen a shop take?

Honestly, is a double fold really that big of a deal? It's just laundry. Some people are busy and if a single fold gets the job done, the clothes are still put away. Seems like a weird thing to call sad.

Remember that pizza place that tried to use pre-shredded cheese? It never melts right and just sits there like a plastic blanket. Some shortcuts just ruin the whole point of the thing.
