Dropped $400 on a used deck oven off Facebook and it barely holds 300 degrees

Spent the cash on a 4 year old model from a guy who said it worked fine, but after hauling it to my kitchen and spending a weekend fixing the thermostat, the top rack reads 290 while the bottom hits 340, so what cheap fixes have you guys found for uneven heat in a convection oven?

Read somewhere that cracking the door a few inches during preheat can help even out hot spots in convection ovens by letting trapped heat escape. Might be worth trying a cheap oven thermometer on each rack to map the real temps before swapping out any parts. Idk if it'll fix a 50 degree swing, but it worked for a buddy's old restaurant deck oven.

Cracking the door just dumps heat and confuses the thermostat even more.

A buddy of mine used a welding blanket to tame a 60 degree swing in his double stack.
