Warning: that 4x4 fence post took me 3 hours and a trip to Ace in Plano

Went to set a gate post last Saturday and hit a chunk of old concrete about a foot down that my auger just bounced off. Spent about 3 hours with a digging bar and a sledge chipping around it before I gave up and rented a demo hammer, all to set one post. Anyone else got a trick for busting up buried slab without wrecking a good auger bit?
