Warning: spent $85 on a backyard greenhouse kit from a big box store and it was junk
I grabbed one of those cheap walk in greenhouse kits last fall because I wanted to start seedlings early. The frame was so flimsy that a mild wind storm in March bent two of the poles, and the plastic cover ripped along the zipper after about three weeks. I tried to stake it down better and reattach the cover with clips, but the whole thing was leaning by April. Ended up tossing it and building a simple cold frame from scrap lumber for around $30. Has anyone had luck with a greenhouse setup that actually survives a windy spring, or should I just stick with seedlings on the windowsill?
