That solar fountain pump I bought on a whim actually worked for 8 months straight

I was dead set against those little solar fountains for bird baths. Figured they'd die after a week of Texas sun or get gummed up with debris. Picked up a $25 model off Amazon last April just to prove myself right. It ran every single day from May through December without a single cleaning. Only stopped because a freeze cracked the basin in January. Anyone else have a cheap solar gadget that actually held up better than expected?

Oh you bet I did. I wiped down the exterior like twice. Total dedication. The inside though? That's where the real science experiment was happening. Found a petrified french fry that looked like a fossilized dinosaur bone from a museum. Also discovered some kind of fuzzy organism growing in the butter dish area. Shoved it all in the trash and told myself I'd "get to it next week." That was five months ago.
