That cheap rain barrel kit I put in last spring is actually holding up better than the expensive one from the hardware store
Figured it would leak or crack after one winter but nope. Grabbed it off Facebook Marketplace for $25 from some guy in Denver. The $80 kit from Lowe's already has a slow drip at the spigot. Guess you can't judge by the price tag anymore. Anybody else find that the budget stuff sometimes works longer than you expect?

Facts. The cheap stuff either lasts forever or breaks day one, no in between.

Did you ever take the cheap one apart to see if the spigot threading is metal or plastic? @rileyp49 nailed it with that "either lasts forever or breaks day one" thing. I've had the same experience with hoses and connectors, the cheap stuff often has LESS to go wrong somehow. The expensive kits try to add features that just become failure points down the road.
