Overheard my neighbor yelling at his new fence for 20 minutes straight

So I'm out back last Saturday trying to stain my old deck, and my new neighbor is putting up a cedar fence section. He keeps shouting at it like it's gonna listen. Like 'stay level you stupid board' and 'why won't you just fit right.' Honest to god I thought he was on the phone. But nope, just talking to lumber. It got me thinking about how many times I've cussed out a project tool or material when really I just didn't prep right lol. You guys ever catch yourself yelling at inanimate yard stuff during a build?

Is it possible your neighbor is doing fine with the fence but just needed to blow off steam? I know when I'm out in the yard by myself working on something frustrating, sometimes I just start talking out loud to whatever I'm working on. It's not really about the fence being wrong, it's about me being tired and needing to vent. I've caught myself yelling at a stuck drawer that I just forgot to oil, so maybe he's got the same thing going on. Or maybe he's just one of those people who thinks better when they say everything out loud. Either way, at least he's not yelling at his kids or his wife, you know?

Yeah but don't you think that kind of venting can turn into a real problem if no one calls him out on it?

Nah, venting at things is one thing but carrying on full conversations makes me wonder if he knows people can hear him.
