My neighbor's rosemary bush changed my whole plan

I was digging a new bed out back and my neighbor handed me a clipping of her massive rosemary bush. Said she never bought a single starter plant for it, just kept trimming and replanting for 8 years. Has anyone else gotten way more mileage out of one plant than you expected?

Exactly the same thing happened to me with mint. A neighbor gave me one tiny cutting years ago and now I have to practically fight it back from taking over the whole garden. It's wild how one little clipping can turn into this whole system that basically runs itself.

Wait, @mia748 you had me at the rosemary but then you dropped the sourdough and mending clothes thing and I was like whoa. It's like once you notice how one thing keeps going, you start seeing it all over the place.

Started out with one little rosemary plant from a friend five years ago and now I've got it growing in three different spots around my yard. It's like once you see how easy something is to keep going, you start noticing that pattern everywhere, not just with plants. I've got the same thing with my sourdough starter and honestly even with the way I handle my clothes now, mending stuff instead of tossing it. Everything in life just seems to have this quiet way of multiplying if you pay attention and give it a little bit of care. Makes you wonder what else we're missing that could grow into something bigger with just a small push.
