My neighbor showed me a trick for leveling pavers with just a long 2x4 and a rubber mallet

Old Mr. Garcia saw me struggling with my patio project last Saturday... he came over and grabbed a scrap 2x4 from my pile. Laid it across three pavers at once and gave it a couple taps. Everything sat flat after that. I'd been trying to level each one individually for an hour. Has anyone else picked up a simple method from an older DIYer that made you feel a little silly for overcomplicating it?

Old man Garcia's trick is pure gold. That whole "work smarter, not harder" thing really hits home when you see it in action. I spent a whole afternoon once fighting with a single paver before a buddy showed me the same move.

Yo how many times have we all made something way harder than it needed to be before someone just shows us the easy way? Honestly that paver story hits close to home. Took me like two hours once trying to level a patio stone with a rubber mallet and a level, just getting more and more frustrated. Then my neighbor came over and just gave it a little twist with a pry bar and it settled right in. Ngl I felt pretty dumb but also grateful he didn't let me keep suffering.

Grandpa taught me to start screws by pinching them between two fingers, no bit needed.
